Kauffman’s April Garden
i walked across the frozen land of winter
aware of subtle vibration underneath the surface
this morning, life giving
warmth has cracked open the soil
and the sun shines the arrival of spring
i sit on a bench before the
silent dancer’s fountain
and know there is good in life and laughter and love
as the overture of the
birthing season keys up
i muse a fitting place for every living thing
bless the
springtime and, as the poet wrote,
“i thank You God for most this amazing day”*
for now, it is spring in
Kauffman’s April garden.
