Arkansas Easter Weekend Drive, a sketch

We started out in the rain

Low clouds on W-74
 

Road to Ponca
Buffalo River roaring
Up river valley to Mt Sherman

Green trees no leaves green bark
Rocks – green
Air – fresh
Center strip of highway – a washboard
Tires voomvoomvoom when hitting that line
Up into clouds – fog lights on, can't see a thing
Ribbons of smoky gray hanging from the top of sky

Green and blue canoes stacked 7 up – 2 deep
Camp Orr
Mt Sherman Assembly of God

Mt Sherman Fire Dept – Volunteer

Tan muddy cows, huge when lying down 
Circle of calves standing, pure white, no mud
Horseshoe Canyon Guest House
Buffalo River Ranch Resort

and  down   now
Steep and crooked with hairpin curves

Ponca to Boxley

And we remembered the "bug cabin"
        Where Lady Bugs fell from the ceiling and
        The gas stove smelled like gas and
        We opened the window and
        The bugs flew out and
        We made love in the back bedroom and
        A  rooster crowed at 3:00am
Up and Up to Kingston on 21 North
